Steven Sparks Photography- STEVEN’S BIOGRAPHY
“’Photographic art to live with’ is what I enjoy creating the most, with no limits of content or processing.” Steven.
For over 40 years, as his primary careers have allowed, Steven has continuously learned and practiced a wide variety of photographic skills. Besides creating and selling photo art for wall decor he has had experience with photojournalism, aerial photography, portraits, weddings, and advertising; and he has won numerous photo contest and show awards.
Steven’s main career as an aviator with the Army and Coast Guard took him to numerous photogenic locations including Hawaii and Alaska, all influencing his perceptions of beauty. He was transferred to Tampa Bay in 1989, retired from the military in 1993, and Steve with his wife and three children decided to remain in Tampa. In 2008, after a shorter second career with USAA, Steve fully retired and now devotes more time to photography.
Steven is mostly a self-taught photographer though he has completed some formal training with the University of South Florida, N. Kansas City High School, DOD Public Affairs School, Nikon School, and with a commercial art photographer in Honolulu. Steve works with Nikon digital cameras and processes with Photoshop Elements and several other editing programs and plug-ins.
Steve is a member of the North Tampa Arts League and the Florida Center for Creative Photography. Other than on this website, he displays and sells his photo art at various local venues.
